Erica
Erica Moore studied Fine Arts, Art History & English Literature at the University of Guelph where she obtained her first honours degree. She later narrowed her focus towards Interior Design and pursued her passions academically with RCC Yorkville University.
Erica has worked within the residential sector of design for over 15 years. She started working for Hudson Kruse in 2008, alongside Trevor Kruse and is now the firm’s acting Principal and Owner. Erica has experience in overseeing jobs of various scopes and sizes; from large development projects to private residential homes.
Erica brings to each project a high level of professionalism and experience, however it is the relationships with her clients as well as her intuitive approach to design solutions that highlight her success in the industry.
Outside of design Erica is also a published writer and mother of two.
Dev
S Dev Manhas comes from a family of architects and engineers, with an inherited interest in creating innovative architectural solutions. He is passionate about building designs and advanced construction processes. After completing his 5 years bachelor’s in architecture from JNTU, Hyderabad-India, he moved to Auckland, New Zealand to pursue his Post Graduation in Construction Project Management from UNITEC Institute of Technology. He eventually established his main base in Canada and completed Advance Architecture Studies in BIM from Ryerson University.
His attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills ensure that every project he works on is done accurately and to the highest possible standard.
Dev is a former international speed skating athlete with a huge passion for roller sports.
Huda
Huda Akbar holds a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Ryerson University in Toronto. During her accomplished studies, she was presented with the “Ann Le Bar Travel Award”, an academic recognition that allowed her to study abroad and explore the rich culture, design, and architectural history of Italy. The love she has for interiors along with her strong technical background has driven her to pursue each new design challenge through a humanistic lens. This perspective has allowed her to create beautiful spaces by understanding the user’s relation to their surroundings.
Huda plays an essential role as an interior designer at Hudson Kruse + sons; Incorporating successful and creative design solutions in all projects. She can independently manage a variety of roles throughout the design process, from conceptual to final inspections. Huda specializes in both hand and digital renderings which aids in visually communicating design intent.
With the same humanitarian drive, in her free time, Huda enjoys giving back by being apart of many volunteer organizations
Robyn
Robyn Brettell graduated from the Humber College Decorating program. Following her studies, she quickly gained experience within the retail, exhibition, and commercial sector, with a propensity for furniture and finish selection. Robyn has designed custom high-end, luxury homes from concept to completion within a firm setting and frequently takes on a leadership role.
With her attention to detail and strong ability to forge strong customer service relationships with clients, Robyn also succeeds in taking on the role of Business Manager within the firm.
Robyn loves wallpaper and colourful projects – outside of the studio Robyn can be found shopping for shoes and listening to showtunes.
Julie
Julie Chung holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Capilano University and a diploma in Fashion Business from George Brown College. Having lived on the west coast as well as in Toronto throughout her life, Julie has honed a balanced appreciation for nature and city life.
Julie brings to our firm vast experience from many facets of style, from culinary to fashion and design. Julie has developed a rich love for working with all things creative as well as a diverse client base. She approaches each project with an empathetic curiosity, eager to find the best approach in a project-based setting --- “there is always a straighter line!”.
When Julie isn't chasing her two very active children, you can find Julie enjoying new restaurants with friends, attending a boxing class, thrifting for the perfect piece or biking to explore the city.
Sophia
Sophia Porco is an Interior Design student at Toronto Metropolitan University. Working as an intern, she is excited to explore her passion for meaningful and timeless design. She believes all interiors should have personal touches that reflect the client to make them feel at ease in their space. The fulfillment she gains from this perspective drives Sophia to pursue a career in design.
With her passion for the arts, Sophia enjoys being hands-on by creating material boards and drafting. This allows her to see projects come to life.
Sophia can be found outside the studio reading, exercising, or getting lost in creating pottery.
Trevor
Trevor Kruse is the founder (1999) and past Principal Designer of Hudson Kruse Design. In September of 2020, he retired from the firm to become the CEO with the profession’s national organization, the Interior Designers of Canada (IDC). As well as enjoying a 35-year career as a professional interior designer, Trevor has spent nearly three decades of volunteer service on provincial, national, and international boards.
Trevor graduated with a degree in Interior Design from Ryerson University and now sits on the Advisory Council for the School of Interior Design. He has been a role model for students and young designers; acting as mentor, teacher, and colleague to countless graduates from the ten recognized schools in Ontario. He received the Outstanding Achievement Award from Ryerson University in 2003 for his leadership and mentoring roles.
Trevor’s dedication, passion and leadership continues to advance the profession of Interior Design.
